BitLocker, while it doesn’t aid in tracking, plays a critical role in data protection by encrypting files, ensuring that even if the thief removes the drive or installs a new operating system, the original data remains inaccessible.
However, if the laptop never connects to the internet again, tracking it becomes highly unlikely.
Thieves may also disable tracking features quickly. Therefore, while recovery isn’t guaranteed, enabling tracking tools and keeping BitLocker active offers the best balance between possible retrieval and strong data security.
